VOLUNTEER
In May 2018 the Executive Service Network was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in the United States after being established in March 2018 with the cooperation of several distinguished Nigerians including leaders of Volunteer Corps, an indigenous Nigerian not-for-profit organization founded in Lagos in 1992 by Sir Ademola Aladekoma.
Our Vision is a Nigeria which stands in the near future as a giant of social progress and social development in Africa and globally. Our Mission is to establish within Nigeria an Executive Service Network of hundreds of thousands of volunteers consisting of active and retired professionals. We will connect the executive volunteers in an expansive web of coordinated and validated initiatives with the goals of enhancing the impact of existing social development enterprises and institutions and stimulating the creation of the necessary new enterprises and institutions that enrich social development.
We will soon begin the process of establishing Nigeria's most comprehensive Volunteer Database starting in Lagos State. The database will list descriptions of volunteer opportunities including information on desired backgrounds and expectations. We are focused on volunteerism that leads to organizational capacity building which addresses the visionary and functional dimensions that greatly enhance the ability of an organization to achieve its mission. For example, in schools we are not only concerned with mentoring and tutoring, but we are also concerned with enhancing strategic development and the use of financial resources, the acquisition and application of technology, curriculum development, teacher training, adoption of new teaching and learning models, leadership training, and communication.
By 2019, we will begin establishing short- and long-term volunteer assignments in select organizations in Lagos. Volunteer participation may take place on-site at the organization and/or through videoconferencing.
We invite you to enter your email address below so that we may contact you when the database is operational toward the end of 2018.
